Though my foes are many, let my heart not quiver because the Lord leads me in battle. Jesus, grant me the necessary weapons to slay the giant of self-indulgence and demolish the Philistine of indifference. Move me with the spiritual agility of one trained by the Holy Spirit. Energize me as one who remains beneath Your banner of love. Protect me as one who puts on Your armor. Help me exhibit the patient dedication to usurp the idols which have taken Your throne in my heart. Your merciful forgiveness is my strength and my clarity. Only You, Holy Spirit, can grant me the power to crucify the flesh and destroy the enemy within me. Let Satan not gain a foothold as I yield the ground of my soul to the One who fought for it in the power of love. Under the Word given in Psalm 31:4-6 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

For you are my rock and my fortress;
    and for Your Name’s sake you lead me and guide me;
You take me out of the net they have hidden for me,
    for You are my refuge.
