Lord, I am grateful for Your personal promise to rescue those who sincerely call out to You. Deliver Your beloved ones, Lord. Your arm is mighty to save. Forgive me for my meddling intolerance, a resistance unwilling to wait for Your plan to unfold. Instead, I manipulate things to fit my agenda. My strength is mere weakness when compared to You. Your resplendence shines in all-sufficiency. You do not need our help. You allow it and welcome it. Let me not calculate my forces when I have You as my commander. Let me not consult with flesh and blood when the counsel of Your Spirit is available to my soul. Let me cease opening my most grievous wounds to human companions when You offer to comfort my aching heart with a divine balm. By Your power alone, I can be still. Forgive my vain searching for satisfaction outside of Your presence. There is no fulfillment outside of sharing love with You. Overturn the evil plot. Vanquish the tyrant. Alarm the wicked. Let me pity rather than fear the foe. When I wait upon You, my expectation will never fail. When You are on our side, we need not fear the world. Under the magnificence of the Word in Psalm 119:41 and the authority of Christ, I come to the altar in prayer.

Let Your steadfast love come to me, O Lord,
    Your salvation according to Your promise;
then shall I have an answer for him who taunts me,
