Today’s Prayer

Abide in me as I offer my most heartfelt devotion, Lord God. What blessed comfort is found in the indwelling of Your Holy Spirit. My grieving heart is blessedly consoled by Your presence. Truly, the joy of salvation splashes from the well of worship. Convince me of my sin lest its subtle influence continually separate me from Your heart. Illuminate my iniquity so that I can rid myself of its infection through confession. I delight in the forgiveness that You readily offer. Instruct me in the way I should go because the map offered by this world only leads me to a ditch of self-awareness. Only in Your assessment can I be glad about my identity. Do not leave me to my own desires, but renew me with thoughts that are holy and true. Replenish my languishing soul as only You can. The blueprint of my heart is in Your hands. Even when my weakness is confirmed by unsavory decisions, I can rest assured that Your strength will be my solace. Your truth is my consolation. Remedy what ails me, Lord. Infuse my life with Your Spirit. Let this abiding relationship be something more than religious fervor. Let it be the zeal of love so deep that my soul comes alive with the abundance of living You designed for this story. Under the majesty of Your Word in John 10:9-11 and the authority of my one and only Savior, I pray.

I am the door. If anyone enters by Me, he will be saved and will go in and out and find pasture. The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.  I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep.
