When I find refuge in Your Name, Lord, there is safety. All insecurity melts away under the steady flame of Your Holy Spirit’s manifest presence. Pull me into that sacred space on the tether of Your righteousness, Jesus. There is no worldly security strong enough to offer the sense of safety that You do. Your peace is not like that of the world. The high walls of success in society are easily toppled by discontent. Keep me from becoming haughty, thinking that confidence can protect me from the onslaught of anxiety. Humility is the only true antidote for insecurity. Make me a listener, Lord, so that I do not speak before allowing knowledge to temper my response. Others may declare war on me with their words, but Your Spirit controls my contentious reaction. Even when my heart is crushed, You are there to pick up the pieces. Tune my ear to Your voice above all other voices. Rid me of the powerful contenders for my affection. Your heart is where I belong. Let me offer mine to none other than You. Be satisfied by the prayers yielded from my lips. I seek Your favor perpetually, Lord God. Deal mercifully with me in my folly. Let me find refuge as I follow the path of Your Word that leads straight to Your heart. Under the majesty of the Word in John 14:27 and the authority of Christ, I offer up my prayer.
Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
John 14:27, ESV
