Today’s Prayer

Your patience astounds me, Lord. Your forgiveness is the canopy that provides shade against the heat of adverse conditions. I look to Your Word for understanding. I seek Your heart for counsel. Sift my heart so I can be rid of any lingering corruption. Pull my gaze perpetually toward heaven. Set a sunrise of Your Spirit in my soul. Let Your truth dawn upon my thinking patterns. When I call upon You, I know You hear me. What blessedness is there for the one who dwells upon Your holy hill. Show me what is right, Lord. Let me walk in that way. Filter the conversation of my heart with truth. I am prone to slander myself, letting the pride of low self-esteem cause injury that paralyzes me from accomplishing Your will. Give me a healthy dose of humility so I can claim Your assessment of situations over my own. My thoughts can be vile sometimes, Lord. Cleanse them with reminders of Your love. You are worthy of honor. In Your presence, I am prompted to worship. Do not let my heart’s fervor dull with time because I despise a cold, unresponsive heart. My steps are only blameless when I walk in the way of Your Spirit. When I trip and fall, I know that You will lift me up. Blessed be Your Name, Lord. Sturdy is the foundation of Your Word. Let me stand upon it in faith. Under the power of truth in Matthew 7:24-25 and the authority of Christ, I bow in prayer.

Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock.
Matthew 7:24-25, ESV
