God, Your promises are the sure foundation for my soul. Your love is the root of faithfulness that allows hope to blossom. You did not cast me from Your presence as my sins deserved. You pulled me close into the protective shadow of the cross. There is no fear that can seed my heart with briars of doubt. Your provision means that I have no lack and no want that is outside Your sovereign will. Joy is the drumbeat of my heart. In the refuge of Your nearness, I find rest. Spread the corner of Your blanket over me until I am abiding fully in Your love. The chill of this world is frigid, Lord. Only in Your presence does the warmth of truth exist. Nothing can prevail against me because You are my God. Into the arms of Your almighty protection, I flee from the enemy. Stretch out Your omnipotent arm to save me from myself. Gather me under Your wings as You have promised. Your grace is my sufficiency. Only You can pull up the corruption in my heart by the roots. Let the garden of my soul flourish under Your attention. I delight to abide in You. Under the magnificence of Your Word in Jeremiah 1:19 and the authority of my Savior, Christ Jesus, I come to the altar in prayer.
