Lord, there is much freedom in forgiveness. There is hope in my inheritance from You. Pull up the weeds of unfaithfulness so there is room for good growth. Your Spirit purges my heart of the complexity of tears that blind me to a heavenly perspective. Keep warring, rebellious emotions in the background when I am faced with decisions of eternal implications. Self-righteousness leads only to death. In contrition, there is life. My rest only comes from You, Lord Jesus. My sin is a constant grief. Inspire me toward a trajectory of holiness that brings me to Your heart. I have experienced Your greatness and love. Even the troubles You allow have enriched me with the spiritual gain of perseverance. Keep me conscious of my folly and weakness so that I can be rid of them in confession and prayer. Lord, there is freedom in receiving Your forgiveness. Under the canopy of the Word in Matthew 6:14-15 and the authority of Christ, I come to You in prayer.
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you, but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Matthew 6:14-15, ESV
