Today’s Prayer

The stranglehold of despair is loosened when the Spirit of the Lord pries open its ferocious grip through prayer. Let me not fall any deeper into the pit, Lord. My heart rests secure in knowing the long reach of Your mighty arm of grace. When loneliness twists my insides, the presence of my King unravels every tight knot. Lord, You have captivated my soul with the wonders of Your loving kindness. You have opened my eyes to dazzling delights of eternal perspectives. Teach me to count my blessings instead of complain about my lack. According to Your mercy, You have shown me deep and wonderful truths tucked into the fabric of Your Word. Weave the threads of forgiveness, joy, peace, hope, and love into my life. Help me put into action what You have revealed to me. Your lessons are not in vain, Lord. Your magnificence astounds me. You do not regard my weakness as insufficient. Let me lean into it as it pulls me toward You. When I am torn down, You build me up. When I can’t find my way, You take me by the hand and show me. No matter how many steps are left in the journey, let me take them with my hand firmly attached to Yours. Under the blessed assurance of Your Word in Psalm 73:28 and the authority of Christ, I come to You in prayer.

But for me it is good to be near God;
    I have made the Lord God my refuge,
    that I may tell of all Your works.
Psalm 73:28, ESV
