Open my heart and mind to see the good things You have surrounded me with. Make my thoughts dwell on that which is good, noble, and true. Walk me along paths of peace and mercy. Dedicate my affections to that which please You. Only Your presence can perfect my knowledge. My eyes are fixed on the One who soars with righteousness in His wings. Even as my day leads me in perpetual motion, let my thoughts not wander from You. My faith finds its completeness in the work of the cross. My hope is realized in the love of Christ. Take my soul, all its jagged pieces, and smooth the sharp edges as You put everything where it needs to go. Like the glorious moonlight shining on a dark night, Your Word illuminates truth in a culture of lies. Keep me in the light, Lord, as only You can do. Under the majestic truth of the Word set down in John 1:4-5 and the authority of Christ, I come to the altar in prayer.

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
