With the persistent guidance of Your Spirit, Lord, help me keep to the narrow path that leads to life. Let my devotion be abiding and my obedience be strict regarding Your commands. Rid me of enrichment from the fineries of worldly pleasure. May all of my soul nourishment come from Your Word and Your presence. With an attentive ear, I hearken to Your precepts, searching for wisdom where it may be found. If there is anything precious to me besides You, let me lay it on the altar of sacrifice. Forgive me of the lingering propensity toward disobedience, Lord. My attachment to You is more than pretense. Give me a devout heart and a soul willingness to obey Your commands. Religion is not something I am good at. Relationship is what You offer in spite of it. Though my faith is little and my holiness lacking, I offer You the feeble contents of a life that desires more of You. Where I am weak, You are strong. When I fall, Your mighty arms lift me up. Take me as I am, Lord, but do not leave me unfinished. I pray for Your intervening work in making things better tomorrow than they have been today. Under the blessing of Your Word in Psalm 19:7-8 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

The law of the Lord is perfect,
