Today’s Prayer

How slender is my faith, Lord? Fatten it up with trust and hope as only You can do. Though I fall short of the heroic deeds requiring massive faith, You have selected me for Your Kingdom through a fragile thread of belief in Your Son. Strengthen that cord of belief, Lord God Almighty. Let it remain unbroken because Your love is stronger than death. Your faithfulness overcomes my weaknesses. How blessed is the one who is called by Your Name. I need not fear perishing at the hand of the enemy because Your grip on me is secure. Wrap me up in the grace that is my shield, Lord. With divine intentions, You have rescued my soul. Gratitude overshadows any questions lingering in my heart’s darkest places. Pour Your Spirit into the spaces that need filling within me, Lord. I am at Your disposal. You alone can bring me through trial and teach me through tribulation. Difficulties and danger are not fearsome because they are refining. Grow me up, Lord, and fill out my faith until that slender branch becomes a mighty oak of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of His splendor. Under the canopy of Your Word in Isaiah 61:3-4 and the authority of my Savior, Christ Jesus, I pray.

They will be called oaks of righteousness,
    a planting of the Lord
    for the display of His splendor.
They will rebuild the ancient ruins
    and restore the places long devastated;
they will renew the ruined cities
    that have been devastated for generations.
Isaiah 61:3-4, NIV
