Father of all comfort, who holds me ever so close when my heart is wrenched by the way things ought not to be due to a fallen world, bring me into Your embrace for I am Your beloved. Keep me, Lord, for I belong to You. Turn my memories away from pain infliction and toward soul filling so that I may be mended with gratitude’s balm. I invite You to lead me through the terrain of grief even if You must carry me when emotions are overwhelming. My spirit does not willingly accept endings, Lord God. Thank You that You care for me more than I can even fathom. For I know that You take my distresses personally. I know that You minister to my aching heart moment by moment. Help me find the new pattern of joy in the midst of the unfamiliar territory of grief. Under the blessed hope of Revelation 21:4 and the authority of Christ Jesus, my comforter, I tenderly submit these prayers to my God.
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; neither will there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more. The first things have passed away.
Revelation 21:4, WEB

Turn my memories away from pain infliction and toward soul filling so that I may be mended with gratitude’s balm–Amen!
