Great light of the world, my Lord God Almighty, shine bright into the heart of Your beloved for darkness threatens me like an ominous cloud. Vanquish the shadows that close in by gently turning my face toward the light of Your promises. I lift my pain like a candle so that darkness vanishes as mercy comes rushing in. Your touch is tender and Your presence is healing, Jesus. Let my heart rejoice that You see the beauty in my brokenness as You call out to the potential of my soul. Draw me deep into the beauty, Lord, for Your light eclipses all the ugliness. Under the treasure of Psalm 36:9 and the authority of Christ, I set these prayers upon the altar of the King.
