INTERVIEW:
How long have you been writing? How many books or series have you published?
My first published book was in 2019 but I have been writing my whole life…just not as a career. I have 10 published books, and two series. I am about to begin another 5 book series.
What inspired you to write? How does your faith impact your writing?
Writing was an inspiration from above. I had a season in my life where health issues slowed my type A personality down long enough to stop and smell the roses…to use an old cliche. In other words, I had band width for creativity and I was bored. I began writing a novel as a lark and discovered my true destiny. Writing God inspired fiction is now what I what to do for the rest of my life.
Do you have a favorite author or book? Why is that your favorite?
Francine Rivers has to be my all-time favourite author…Redeeming Love…of course.
What is your favorite genre to read/write?
I have to say historical romance is my favourite to read and write. I will be returning to that genre with a five book series situated on Jekyll Island, Georgia back in the Edwardian Era. The creativity is already percolating.
What do you like most about what you do? What are your biggest challenges?
I love, love, love the process of creative writing. I find marketing my biggest challenge. Who likes to promote themselves? Not I. However, if I write a book and no one reads it, then the purpose of sharing God with the world through parables is lost. And so I endeavour to do my best.
Do you have a favorite character in your most recent release?
Mara…of course. She is you, me, and every believer that fights the good fight.
What are you working on now? What can we expect in the future?
I recently launched a three-book series called The Victory Series, and I can honestly say—it’s been one of the most meaningful writing journeys of my life. While I’ve always loved writing historical romance, I felt a clear nudge from God to pause that path and pour my heart into this suspense-filled trilogy. Through Mara’s story, spiritual warfare comes vividly to life—revealing not only the reality of our unseen enemy but also the incredible power of prayer, faith, and the Holy Spirit’s guidance in overcoming darkness. The reviews have deeply moved me. Readers have shared how the series has strengthened their prayer lives, awakened their spiritual awareness, and reminded them that victory truly belongs to those who trust in Christ. One recent review on Amazon especially touched my heart and confirmed why I wrote these books: “Next to the Bible, The Victory Series by Blossom Turner brought me close to Jesus and helped restore me to my First Love. Thank you, Blossom Turner, for being open and obedient to Holy Spirit’s leading.” — Ann Newbery Those words made every late night, every tear, and every prayer worth it. If even one heart is drawn closer to Jesus through this series, then every moment spent writing it has fulfilled its purpose.
Do you have any fun facts to mention? (what is your go-to snack when writing/reading? Daily habits…)
I must walk with my dogs each day and break up the writing. I have a favourite salad I make most every lunch…but Dairy Queen chicken fingers once a week are the treat that make me as happy as four year old.
What would you like to say to readers? (What do you hope readers take-away from your book?)
Dear reader…I pray you will be inspired and your prayer lift enriched by reading the Victory Series. I love to hear from my readers so feel free to drop me an email at blossomturner@gmail.com. I respond to every email.
