Jesus, You are my deliverer. When the evil one takes aim at my heart, You are there to shield me from his arrows of condemnation. You are my rear guard. When trials surprise me with adversity, Your comforting presence guides me to freedom. I praise You, God, for who You are. I want to love You more. I honor You, God, for all that You do. I want to please You more. Only You truly delight my heart. At Your right hand are the pleasures anointed specifically for me. Your cords of love protect me when the hidden traps are set upon my path. Though I may stumble, I will never fall too far from Your grace. With my head covered in the battle, I need not fear the enemy’s schemes. Maintain my cause, Jesus, as only You can do until the day I dwell in Your presence forevermore. Under the Word of truth in Psalm 140:6-7 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.

I say to the Lord, You are my God;
    give ear to the voice of my pleas for mercy, O Lord!
