Truly, there is nothing good apart from You, God of all that is, that was and that will be. When the atmosphere of my soul grows cold within me, it is into Your arms that I seek refuge. Your presence is where I can find sweet rest. Your counsel is the balm that comforts me in times of trouble. Teach me, Lord, not to run after the lesser gods of worldly enticements – success, money, status, or fame. You are my chosen portion, Jesus. In You, I have all that I need. The inheritance You offer me is entirely beautiful. The lines You have drawn for me fall in pleasant places. Instruct my weary heart, Holy One. Let me not be easily led astray. Confine my selfish desires, Lord, so that I can be free to worship You in spirit and in truth. For my heart finds its gladness in You, Jesus. My whole being rejoices in the presence of Your Spirit within me. Make known to me the path of life so that I can walk into the fullness of joy. Under the Word of Psalm 16:8-9 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.
I have set the Lord always before me;
because He is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being rejoices;
my flesh also dwells secure.
Psalm 16:8-9, ESV
