My Lord and Savior, You are my hiding place. You are the safety that my soul seeks in a land crawling with snares set by the enemy. Make my heart pure by the light of a love that is incorruptible. Make my spirit one with Yours, Jesus. For I am poor and needy in heart. The shattered contents can only be repaired by hands as capable and tender as Your own. Remind me not to seek lesser remedies to give myself relief. The refinement that You bring through trials is far more beneficial than instant relief from the discomfort of my soul. Lord, build me up on a foundation of truth that will stand through these deceitful times. Grant me the power to discern through Your Holy Spirit so that I can remain on the narrow path of Your will for this life. Fix my gaze upon Your throne, Lord God. Guide me toward the horizon of eternity, protecting me from distractions that will cause me to lose my way. Only You can hold me. Only You can keep my heart. Only You can save me, Jesus. Under the Word You have given us in Psalm 3:3-5 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I humbly pray.
But You, O Lord, are a covering around me,
my shining-greatness, and the One Who lifts my head.
I was crying to the Lord with my voice.
And He answered me from His holy mountain.
I lay down and slept, and I woke up again, for the Lord keeps me safe.
