In all things, I bow before You, my Father in heaven. Lead me in the power of submission. Rid me of the virus of pride that infects my soul to the point of distancing me from You. Lord, reveal to me the iniquity that I may be blind to. Jesus, make me into the image-bearing creation You intended me to be. Though my heart hurts when I am misunderstood, You are the One who knows my true intentions. Though my soul wants to defend itself when I am wrongly accused, You are my true defender. Show me how to live for You, Lord. Remind me who I am in You when the enemy uses others to demean my identity as a child of God. Tune my ears to listen to the truth and be deaf to the lies. Tune my heart to be a vessel of goodness, not a weapon of self-exaltation. Find me where I am, Lord God, and move me to the place You want me to be. Under the Word of Matthew 23:12 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I lay these prayers upon Your altar.
Whoever exalts himself will be humbled,
and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
Matthew 23:12, ESV
