Hear the longing cry of my God-hungry soul, Lord. Penetrate my barriers and intermingle with my soul until Your Spirit consumes my being. Force the rebellion that lingers within me to withdraw so I can live a life fully submitted to You, Jesus. Let my soul cling to You, Lord. Shield me from the guilt of my own inadequacy. I am painfully aware of the corruptibility of my love for You. I am knowledgeable of my misplaced priorities as I fall prey to the idolatrous desires set up as high places in my culture. Grant me the strength to resist as You empower me with Your Spirit. Only You can protect me from the dangers. Only You can steer me away from the perilous traps set by the enemy on my life’s path. Grant me a submissive spirit, Lord, because I desperately need You to lead me. Under the power and might of Your Word in Galatians 5:13, 16 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I humbly pray.

You, my brothers and sisters, were called to be free.
But do not use your freedom to indulge the flesh…
