Today’s Prayer

Let my ears be open to listen for the speaking of heaven. Rid me of the noise, the activity, and the bluster that deafens my heart to Your whisper, God. If I am caught in the tempest of the last generational conflict, let me be anchored to Your Holy Word. Tether me to Your promises alone, so that I do not attach my soul to faulty deceptions which promise life but deliver death. For my strength does not lie in noise but in silence. My safety does not come from activity but solitude. May I not be afraid to enter the stillness where You wait for me. May I not resist the offer to retreat from the pressure of this world and find refuge in You that is sweetly unending. Touch me with heaven, Lord, and illuminate the Scriptures as You hide me there, safe within the solitude of Your Holy Word. Beneath the canopy of truth given in Psalm 46:10 and the authority of my Savior, Jesus Christ, I humbly bow at Your feet in prayer.

Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
Psalm 46:10, ESV
