Lord of my heart, look upon Your servant with peculiar interest. Let the light of Your perfect love permeate the darkness of my soul. My desire is for You to look upon this life, to look upon me – Your handiwork – and say it is good. Let Your tenderly observant eyes fix on me and guide me, Jesus. For You have placed within my earthen vessel a treasure of infinite worth. Make my body Your temple, Lord. Sanctify me by Your holiness. Set me apart from the dark world I live in because You have declared me a child of the day. Lift me from a pit of despondency because my heart longs to be near You, Jesus. Finish the great and mighty work You have begun in me. Preserve Your servant, Lord, especially when I am battle-weary. I am powerless without Your abiding love. I am lost without Your perpetual light. Let the splendor and fullness of Your glory be my life’s legacy. Under the beauty of the Word in Philippians 1:6 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I pray.
I am convinced and confident of this very thing,
that He who has begun a good work
in you will [continue to] perfect and complete it
until the day of Christ Jesus [the time of His return].
