My Father, pour out Your heavenly promises into the cup stretched out before me. Holy Spirit, grant me strength to drink what has been offered. For what goes down bitter will turn sweet in Your presence. What tastes sour will truly nourish to the glory of Your Name, God. Measure the capacity of my every desire against holiness until I become one with Your will, my Lord and my King. Measure the emptiness of my soul so that the rips can be mended and the vacancies filled with Your Spirit, my one and only Lord. Jesus, You are more worthy than any worldly treasure. Your perfect love is of infinite value. Make me Your treasure so that I can shine like a gem in the crown upon Your head. Complete me, Lord, as only You can. Finish what You have begun in me. In Your presence, I find freedom and restful bliss. The hope of eternity’s endless delight lifts me above the unsatisfying pursuit of lesser love. There is nothing I want besides resting in the secure arms of my Savior. There is nothing I need besides You being my God. My heart and soul rejoice in the cup of salvation offered me in the blood of Christ. Let the spiritual chilliness that surrounds me be washed away by the warmth of love’s sweetest offering. Under the treasured Word of Matthew 26:41-42 and the authority in Christ, I pray.
Stay awake and pray, so that you won’t enter into temptation.
The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Again, a second time, He went away and prayed,
“My Father, if this cannot pass unless I drink it, Your will be done.”
