My Lord, within the thicket of this world’s chaos the enemy taunts me with temptations hard to overcome. The one who seeks to devour gives no intimation of his approach. Guard my heart in the saturation of Your truth, my God. Protect me from the darkness that swirls within, beckoning me to succumb to the weakness of my flesh. Lead me, Jesus, away from the sparks of false light that the evil one lures me with. I am holy Yours, my King. Your hand is mighty to save. Show me the way out. Your path leads to victory. Teach me when to expect each attack so that I am not caught unaware. Prepare me to meet the danger head-on so that its sting might be averted. Deliver me, Lord Jesus, as only You can from the jaws of the one who steals, kills and destroys. Infuse Your servant with strength to take back the stolen ground of my soul by the authority of Your great Name. Under the power and authority of Christ Jesus and the Word of testimony in Luke 11:2-4, I humbly pray my requests.
Father, hallowed be Your Name.
Your Kingdom come.
Give us each day our daily bread,
and forgive us our sins,
for we ourselves forgive everyone who is indebted to us.
And lead us not into temptation.
Luke 11:2-4, ESV
I like the phrase of the thicket of this world’s chaos–when I say like I mean this is a phrase to ponder
