My Lord, I come to Your table a hungry beggar in need of the sustenance of Your Holy Spirit. My soul has been starved within me by the atrocious grain of the world’s temptations. I have been filled but never satisfied. I have enjoyed but never found joy. So, I come in humble prayer to Your banquet of grace seeking only a portion of the daily bread of sweet assurance. ENOUGH is what I wish to feast on so that I may not become a spiritual glutton who seeks what You provide rather than seeking the Provider. Let me be content with a daily allowance of Yourself in me, Lord Jesus. Let me not succumb to the erroneous craving for more than enough which turns me back to the world’s empty promises. For I cannot eat of drink or be clothed in more than a day’s worth of supply. I am not in need of that which tomorrow brings because it’s troubles have not yet dawned upon me. My future hunger cannot be met by today’s food. In you, Jesus, let me rejoice to feast on a daily supply of Living Bread. You are all that my soul needs. Your ENOUGH is the banquet my heart feasts upon to be satisfied. Under the Word of truth in Matthew 6:34 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
“So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.
Today’s trouble is enough for today.”
Matthew 6:34, NLT
lots of good descriptive phrasing–hungry beggar-starved soul-filled but never satisfied-have enjoyed but never found joy-feasting on enough-world’s empty promises-
