Today’s Prayer

My Lord, ready me for Your Kingdom. Your servant is in need of refinement. Do not let the hardness of my own heart refuse to open its door when You knock tenderly upon it with Your nail-scarred hands. Though there is nothing within my being that I can offer You as host, let my soul rejoice that my Savior brings me the nourishment of truth upon which I can feast. Until You came, Jesus, I had no awareness of my hunger. Until You entered, Holy Spirit, I had not seen the bareness of my dwelling. Grant me a healthy desire to meet with You in prayer each day, Lord. I am still in need of an appetite for truth that will turn me away from the delicacies of deceit laid out upon the banquet table of this world. Draw me to Yourself, Lord Jesus, until that blessed day when I sit at Your table in the Kingdom where Yours are invited to partake in the marriage supper of the Lamb. In the power of Your Spirit, make Your church ready. Under the beautiful Word of Revelation 19:6-9 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

“Hallelujah!
For our Lord God Almighty reigns.
Let us rejoice and be glad
    and give Him glory!
For the wedding of the Lamb has come,
and His bride has made herself ready.
Fine linen, bright and clean,
    was given her to wear.”
Revelation 19:6-9, NIV
