My Lord Jesus, how relieved my heart is to know You are nearer than my very breath. This world is a frightening forest of untamed threats if I do not have You as my guide. All that I treasure in this world is as nothing compared to what I have now been given in You. My peace depends on You. My comfort can only be found in Your arms. My protection is by Your Spirit alone. My soul withers outside of my intimate connection to You. My heart trembles at the enemy’s howling accusations outside of the canopy of Your intercession. Jesus, You are my source, my sustenance, and my life. May the tempest of loneliness not overturn my hope because You are near. May the damp clouds of unsavory emotions not eclipse the light You shine around my soul. Keep me, my Lord. As undesirable as my wayward heart is, I gratefully adore my King who designated me His jewel. Help me to live as Your treasure so that I do not seek the cheap substitutes of this world. Under the Word given in Matthew 13:44 & 6:21 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I lay these prayers at Your feet.

The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field,
