Lord, I delightfully bow beneath the presence of the One who owns my heart. My soul thrills at the divine occupation of the Holy Spirit which drives away all remnant of shadow within me. Your Word is my motivating source, Jesus. Your pleasure is my goal. Let my very essence embrace You in prayer. I am my beloved’s. Such sweet assurance is mine in knowing that I belong to You. My deepest trust is the jewel I place upon Your crown. In the fraternity of the brotherhood of Christ, I find the beauty of heavenly conversation. Lord, draw me into sweetness of time spent with You in prayer. Do not let my soul sleep in ambivalent wanderings. I delightfully enter into Your service, Lord, now and forever more. Under the Word of truth in Psalm 36:6-8 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
Your righteousness is like the mountains of God;
Your judgments are like a great deep.
O Lord, You preserve man and beast.
How precious is Your lovingkindness, O God!
And the children of men take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
They drink their fill of the abundance of Your house;
And You give them to drink of the river of Your delights.
Psalm 36:6-8, NASB
Your pleasure is my goal–I wonder what our lives would be like if we were God pleasers instead of people pleasers…
