The well has run dry, my LORD. Every bucket comes up empty. What is wrong with me that I am too tired to lift my shield of faith and extinguish the flaming arrows of the evil one? My soul is parched, my King. I thirst for Your presence. Where can I go to find You? The path I was on has been obscured by the fog. I am lost in the wilderness, my Shepherd. I aimlessly wander, looking for anything familiar. How can I keep from falling when the way before me is so unsteady? I am hungry for more than food, my Provider. The bread of this world no longer satisfies. What am I to eat for sustenance so that I can have strength to walk forward? If only my eyes would stay fixed on You, my Savior. You -who gives me an abundant supply of living water so that I never have to draw from the well again. You -who holds me beneath the protection of Your wings when I am weary and need rest. In Your presence, my soul is satisfied and my thirst is quenched. If only my hands would hold tightly to Yours, my Redeemer. Then I would not be lost in a fog. I would not wander or stumble and fall because Your steady hands would guide me. If only my mouth would feed upon Your truth, my Teacher. Because You are the bread of life that gives me strength by the power of Your Holy Spirit, I can rest assured that the arrows of deceit will not penetrate my faith. Let me praise the everlasting God as I walk in the clarity of His way. Under the Word of truth in Isaiah 12:2-3 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
“Behold, God is my salvation,
I will trust and not be afraid;
For the Lord God is my strength and song,
And He has become my salvation.”
Therefore you will joyously draw water
From the springs of salvation.”
Isaiah 12:2-3, NASB
In Your presence, my soul is satisfied and my thirst is quenched.–Thank God!
