Sing music to my soul, my Savior, my King. For I am in need of a new song. The melody that once brought a joyous note to my heart can no longer be heard above the noise of life. With my ears I hear so many different beats that I seem to have lost the rhythm. Whether loud or quiet, the many pulsing beats are not in sync. I find myself wondering when I should step. I’ve no longer the ability to dance. How long, O LORD, will this chaos of noise continue in my body? How many times must I cower to the noise that comes from within? Is this just the warm-up before the real symphony begins? You, my God, are the conductor of my soul. Only You can take all the noise and bring it together into a beautiful symphony of sound. Let the melody of Your Word minister to my heart. O how I rejoice in how beautifully You have written the song You gave me. Teach me the notes of Your will so that we may be in harmony. I will walk to the beat of Your leadership every day of my life. I will follow You, Jesus, with every step I take. In quietness and trust I will let You calm the chaos of noise inside of me. And with Your perfect peace I will sing a new song. Let it be a song of love, of hope, of salvation to my King. Under the Word given in Psalm 96:1-3 and the authority of Christ, I pray.
Sing to the Lord a new song;
Sing to the Lord, all the earth.
Sing to the Lord, bless His name;
Proclaim good tidings of His salvation from day to day.
Tell of His glory among the nations,
His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.
Psalm 96:1-3, NASB
