My Lord and my King, let me not fritter away the inner sanctuary of fellowship with You in prayer by the outward distraction of spiritual exercise. Reveal to me the true motivations of my heart, Jesus. Let my service be birthed from love. Let my words be true to Your holiness. God, create in me a pure heart as Your hands form my soul into Your likeness. Rid me of my own folly so that I do not neglect the sweeter blessings of just being Yours. Sitting at Your feet is beautifully worshipful. Let the alabaster anointing of Your presence permeate the daily-ness of my life, Lord God. Strengthen me with divine love’s power so that my service in Your Name is not easily fatigued. Gird up my soul with contentment that is able to pour out all that You have poured in so graciously. I delight to work at Your side, my Lord. I rejoice to be at Your beck and call. Use Your servant in the outside world because You have prepared me within the inner sanctuary of daily prayer. Under the Word given in Psalm 51:10-11 and the authority of Christ, I bow in deepest prayer.

Create in me a pure heart, O God,
