Lord, let me not come to You with the unauthorized fire of discontent in my current circumstances. I am starving for love, but I cannot be satisfied unless I am filled in You, Jesus. Help me to reject the tendency to judge Your love based on my abundance or my lack in life. Rather, let me accept my lot, knowing that Your intentions are good toward me all the time. In the midst of my misunderstanding, Lord, let me submit to learn what You would teach me. God, Your love is an infinite ocean of grace that invites me to dive deep in order to behold the treasure beneath the surface. Make me unafraid to sink into the watery invitation of suffering if it will usher me into the fiery passion of Christ. My heart’s secrets are Yours to unfold, Lord. My soul’s brokenness is Yours to mend. I wish to be pliable beneath the caress of Your tenderness. Let me not be led into erroneous thinking which will fuel the unauthorized fire of discontent. For only the warm flame of Your Spirit can burn without destructively consuming the heart and soul of Your beloved. Set me on fire with divine love, Lord. Under the mighty Word of Exodus 3:2 and the authority of the Lord Jesus, I bow in prayer.
There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush.
Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up.
