Silence me with wonder, Lord God. You are majestic to behold. Astonish me in grace. You have invited me into the depths of Your heart through the cross. I am utterly speechless beneath the revelation of Your beauty as manifested in Your Word. Even my most heartfelt praise falls so far short of Your supreme worth. Your inexplicable love unravels the tense wiring of my heart like nothing else. Jesus, Your peace is a gift of perfecting mercy. Lord of all heaven and earth, who am I that You have brought me out of the miry pit and set my feet upon the rock of faith? Who am I that You would condescend to meet with me and hold me in the intimacy of prayer’s embrace? When I am hurting, You let me nestle into Your healing. When I am troubled, You let me rest in Your goodness. When I am chaotic, You let me enter Your stillness by knowing You are my God. Fill my heart with grateful adoration for all You have done as I worship who You are. Under the Word of truth in Psalm 40:1-3 and the authority of Christ, I bow in humble prayer.
I waited patiently for the Lord;
He inclined to me and heard my cry.
He drew me up from the pit of destruction,
out of the miry bog,
and set my feet upon a rock,
making my steps secure.
He put a new song in my mouth,
a song of praise to our God.
Many will see and fear,
and put their trust in the Lord.
