Blessed Lord there is no situation in which I do not need Your upholding grace. Let me not be stingy in seeking You only when my heart faces trial and temptation. Take me deeper into holy moments with You. Usher me to the other side of truth where eternal perspective lifts me out of the miry pit of daily difficulties. Make my heart respond in worship when I am in the blessed light. Keep my steps steady upon the narrow path when I find myself in night seasons where it is too dark to make out the way on my own. Jesus, You are the Way. You are the Truth. You are the Life that I cling to. I cannot do without Your perpetual intervention in my life. For if I love, it is only because You loved me first. If I extend forgiveness, it is only because You forgave me. If I excuse others offenses against me, it is only because You have covered me in grace. Jesus, You are my vine-dresser who grafts my branch into Yourself. You are my shepherd leading me back to the Father’s fold. You are my gardener who tends to the soil of my heart so that my soul does not wither and die. Though the path is dangerous and entrapment threatens me, You will guide my steps, Jesus, in a way that brings You glory. Under the mighty Word of truth in 2 Corinthians 5:17 and the authority of Christ, I bow in grateful prayer.

Therefore if anyone is in Christ [that is, grafted in, joined to Him by faith in Him as Savior], he is a new creature [reborn and renewed by the Holy Spirit]; the old things [the previous moral and spiritual condition] have passed away. Behold, new things have come [because spiritual awakening brings a new life].
