God, let the shaft of the light of Your essential being strike my ordinariness with unexpected luminosity that leaves a trail of supernatural glory. Unveil my blinded eyes so that I can behold Your wonders of the deep. And in this reflective beauty reveal my ugliness so that it might be transformed in You, Jesus. Bring me to the altar by steps of confession, Lord. Only Your cleansing righteousness can un-sully my tainted soul. Only Your consistent presence can steady the turmoil. There is no stability beneath the rolling skies of life where change is ever on the wind. How grateful is my soul for Your unchanging love, Lord. As I take Your outstretched hand, I find that I cannot be shaken. All that You have given me will surely remain when the earth has faded away and the sky is reborn. Let me trust alone in the merit of Your blood. For You have turned the ordinary into extraordinary by shining the light of the truest love into my heart. Under the Word of truth given in grace in 1 John 4:15 and the authority of Christ, I bow in adoring prayer.
