I come near You, my beloved Savior, in perpetual need of freshly supplied divine guidance. Let me not lose the ground of spirituality which has been attained through my relationship to You, Jesus. There are many distractions in everyday life, leisure that disguises my soul’s tendency toward slothfulness. Keep me diligent to follow the path of fruitfulness, to embrace the zealous industry with which I have been called to serve in Your Name. Oh, that my prayers would not be lean and superficial but binding and deep. Take away all indifference that taints my heart with callousness. May I not be satisfied to give just enough of myself to godliness, but rather let me pursue it with fervor and devotion. Jesus, You gave all of Yourself for my sake, how could I do anything less for Yours? Hold me by the power of Your Spirit so that such backsliding as I am prone to will not create a cantankerous weed that chokes out the growth of Christ in me. So I come to You, Lord God, for the daily feeding which nourishes my Spirit in You, keeping me moving forward in a backwards world. Under the Word given in Job 23:10-11 and the authority of Christ, I humbly pray.

But He knows the way I take; When He has put me to the test, I will come out as gold.
My foot has held on to His path; I have kept His way and not turned aside.
