Today’s Prayer

Jesus, I savor Your Name as the ointment for the deepest wounds of my heart. Meet me in the space of revealed secrets where I can draw near to You by the power of mercy in the face of lingering rebellion. Make me ever mindful of the bounty of Your presence. Grant me daily portions of Your wisdom with which I can trace the steps of my Savior’s life in word and in deed. Empower me to love the least of these as You have chosen to love me, Lord. Direct my conversation toward the edification of others and away from the necessity to prove myself worthy. You alone are my judge, Lord. You alone can convict and accept me. Remind me who I am in You and whose Kingdom I serve. By Your power let Your servant be prepared for holy assignments specifically ordained. May the measure of the love beating in my heart bring glory to the very One who supplies it. Praise You that Your love is not squelched by the flood of my failures. Praise You that Your cleansing Word has infiltrated my soul. Praise You for leading me to the cross. You are worthy, Lord. Your majesty is unfathomable to contemplate. May I continually live in awe of You, grateful that these present times are in Your sovereign control. Under the mighty Word of the Lord in Daniel 7:13-14 and the authority of Christ Jesus I bow in humble prayer.

Behold, with the clouds of heaven
    there came One like a son of man,
and He came to the Ancient of Days
    and was presented before Him.
And to Him was given dominion
    and glory and a kingdom,
that all peoples, nations, and languages
    should serve Him;
His dominion is an everlasting dominion,
    which shall not pass away,
and His kingdom one
    that shall not be destroyed.
Daniel 7:13-14, ESV
