Today’s Prayer

The light in my soul grows dim, my LORD. My spirit grows faint within me. Will what You have said come to pass? Can I hold on to Your promises? Have I the strength to endure when the story does not seem to be going in a direction I wish it to go? Forgive me, LORD, for doubting You. For You are my strength. Your Spirit is the light in my soul. You have done so much and yet our enemy blinds me from remembrance. How easily Your servants forget who they are and whom they serve. You are the Living God. You are the One, the Truth, the Beginning and the End. Help me to remember that my story is but a chapter in Your chronicles of creation. Release me from the torment of darkness and the hopelessness of despair. Though we fight in the battle, our victory is assured. Though I am weak, my heart grows in strength because of the hope You have given me. Let me walk the path of Your bloody footprints, Jesus, so that I am closer to You. What solace replaces my despair because I am Yours and You are mine. I live for You because You died for me. Grant me the power to endure by the presence of Your Holy Spirit. Hold me in the grip of Your strong and able hands. I need You, LORD. Oh how I need You now. Make me into a reflection of You. Let me be an untarnished vessel for Your glory, God. My soul magnifies the risen LORD for He has been light to His lowly servant. Under the mighty Word of Psalm 61:1-3 and the authority of Christ I pray.

Hear my cry, O God,
    listen to my prayer;
from the end of the earth I call to You
    when my heart is faint.
Lead me to the rock
    that is higher than I,
for You have been my refuge,
    a strong tower against the enemy.
Psalm 61:1-3, ESV
