Today’s Prayer

Lord, instill in me a confidence that thwarts the vain insecurities distracting me from holiness. Strengthen my faith until I look with contempt on the internal foes vying for position where Your Holy Spirit reigns. With You Jesus, I can live the crucified life by leaning into the gale force winds of opposition and misunderstanding. Let me live to please You, not to avoid suffering. Let me breath to worship You, not exalt myself. Let me move to have Kingdom impact, not worldly influence. For if You are leading me, I surely want to follow. You are the most High God, the One and only, the vanquisher of all evil. Jesus, You have turned my mourning into dancing, my gloom into shine, and my mundane into extraordinary. In the midst of my darkness You have given me love’s light. Lord, beckon me to climb Jacob’s ladder until I reach the pinnacle of Your heart. There amid the splendor of eternity let time’s trials be forgotten. Defrost the winter of discontent with the resurrection of spiritual spring in my heart. Lord, increase my faith that I may possess the confidence to walk fearlessly wherever You lead me. Under the mighty Word of truth given in 2 Corinthian 5:14-15 and the authority of Christ. I pray.

For Christ’s love compels us, since we have reached this conclusion:
If One died for all, then all died. And He died for all so that those who live
should no longer live for themselves,
but for the One who died for them and was raised.
2 Corinthians 5:14-15. HCSB
