Today’s Prayer

God, my sweet and precious Savior, rain down Your presence in my life. Let Your Word saturate my heart until it is bursting with Your truth. Pour out Your Spirit over me LORD. Show me Your splendor in the wonderful works of Your hands. My heart grows faint within me. The storms of loneliness threaten to overtake me. I am being dragged away. But even when my soul is weary with such sorrow, Your Word is my strength. I know the tender gift of faith You have given me through Your Son. Jesus, You are the One who holds me up. You strengthen me that I may persevere. Through You every promise of God is kept in splendor. O God, hear the quiet plea of my afflicted heart. Encourage me with Your love. Shroud me in Your splendor. For You are a God who rescues and redeems His beloved when they call upon You. You are with us in times of trouble and in moments of distress. There is none like You, O God, whose mercy lets us draw near by the assurance of faith. For through Your Son, You have cleansed us from a guilty conscience. By the power of Your Spirit we are enabled to be strong and very courageous. My LORD, I will trust in You when I am afraid. I will find refuge in the splendor of Your love when I am lonely. Jesus, I will follow You even when I do not know the way through the darkness. Because in the splendor of Your presence there is fullness of joy. In the splendor of Your Word are eternal pleasures that my soul desires. My heart will overflow with the splendor of Your truth so that my spirit can sing in the rain as my life flourishes with glory that belongs to the Maker of my soul. Under the Word of truth in Psalm 16:10-11 and the authority of Christ, I pray.

You will not abandon me to the realm of the dead, nor will you let Your faithful one see decay. You make known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand.
Psalm 16:10-11, NIV
