Today’s Prayer

My Father in heaven, make my faith big enough to receive all that You have planned. There is no merit on which I can claim worthiness for such gifts as You have bestowed upon me in Your Son. My heart drinks in the grace like dry land absorbs rain during a drought. My soul embraces the light of Your Spirit like a dark night welcoming a full moon. Whatever You must empty out of me Lord, so that I can receive the fullness of who You are, I gladly let go of it all. Turn my world upside down until the things that do not matter no longer cling to me. What good is it to shine the outside of the cup when the inside is dirty? God, make me a clean vessel ready for the purity of Your Spirit to indwell me. Jesus, You are not merely a figure of historical imagination to me. You are my friend, my guide, my Savior. Receiving the relationship You offered because of the cross has been the most amazing gift. Use Your servant, Lord, to share this gift with others. I come to You for an increase of faith, Jesus. And I come with a grateful heart in adoring prayer. Under the Word of truth given in Matthew 23:25-26 & Luke 17:5 and the authority of the Lord, Christ Jesus, I humbly bow in prayer.

Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.  You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean.
Matthew 23:25-26, ESV
The apostles said to the Lord, “Increase our faith!”
