My Lord and Savior, help me cultivate the fruit You so graciously have enabled me to produce. Truly I know that on my own I can accomplish nothing. So let me wait upon Your Spirit’s prompting. My dependence runs through the luscious vine straight to the roots of who I am in You, Lord. Wrap me up in love that abides. Take me back to the spiritual disciplines which bring me closest to Your presence. Let me engage in those tasks which put me in mind of Your Kingdom and result in Your glory, God. Though I live in a culture of time-wasting, let me not toss away a moment given to me. For it is only when distractions become my focus and distance from You the consequence of spiritual laziness that I cease bearing fruit. I can look upon the barren branches of my heart and know the cause and reason. When my prayers are thin and my soul attention is diverted to worldly concerns, then my heart lacks the nourishment which only comes from abiding in You. Jesus, don’t let Your beloved forget. You are my sustenance. Your love is the soil of my heart. May I not remain long in the infertile soil of this distracting world and its problems. I would much rather offer Kingdom fruit for those starving souls who need replanting. Grow me, Lord Jesus, into Your likeness. Under the mighty Word of God in John 15:5 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I abide in prayer.
I am the vine; you are the branches. Whoever abides in Me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.
John 15:5, ESV
Truly I know that on my own I can accomplish nothing. So let me wait upon Your Spirit’s prompting. My dependence runs through the luscious vine straight to the roots of who I am in You, Lord–Amen!~
