My precious and eternal Savior, help me appreciate the sweet opportunities of each breath given me. My heart harasses me with a propensity to idleness. Yet the time is short as it passes imperceptibly through the sieve of history. May I not look to tomorrow for the things You would anoint me to do today, Lord. There is no other time to love than now. My past given into Your hands has shaped me. My future unfolds according to Your will. Let me cease resisting You, Lord. Endeavor now to make me a branch bearing fruit. No more wasted moments of forsaken callings. Father, grant me a boldness to do what You have said. Though my experience reveals my immaturity and my hesitancy is only a sign of insecurity, the tasks You appoint to me are not my own. Help me respond with timely obedience, Lord God. Enable me to know when the call requires waiting and when it means action. Let me not put today’s assignments into tomorrow’s worries. May my devotion to You be prompted by love, Jesus; love that manifests itself by serving in Your power and not my own. Only then will I truly appreciate the blessedness of the breaths granted to me. Under the Word of the Lord in Matthew 6:34 and the authority of Christ Jesus, I bow in humble prayer.

So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
