Today’s Prayer

Lord, rid Your servants of any trembling propensity to retire from the battle, to cease engaging in the fight against deception. While You would admonish the Church, Your bride, from flirting with unwarranted publicity that might compromise her virtue, You have also designated Your followers as cities on a hill. May the wick of faith be set ablaze in the heart of every true believer until the entire city of faith can be seen from a distance. Let us not indulge any desire to buckle down and retreat from the encroaching darkness and prevailing winds of corruption. Your Church is still on mission not only to build itself up but to be a refuge and a beacon for those who are perishing. Even the smallest voice has much to say when speaking in the power of the Spirit. Lord, lead the way to the mountaintop pulpit for some and the hidden valley floor for others. Use both the loud and the meek to shout of Your grace and whisper of Your love. May Your praises be heard not only in the pew but in the home. May Your majesty be worshipped in the field and in the office. May the testimonies of the saints flow like rushing creeks from hidden springs of spiritual power. Refresh the world with talk of You, Lord Jesus. Wake up Your sleepy servants and recommission Your bride, Lord. Under the Word of God in Matthew 5:14-16 and the authority of Christ Jesus I bow in prayer.

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.
Matthew 6:14-16, NIV
