There is no rest for my weary soul outside the presence of Your heart, Jesus. Even a day filled with the abundant fruit of ministry does not satisfy my soul’s deepest desire – which is time with You. There is no measure to the joy of holy solitude when Your whispered truth comes alive in my heart. Remind me that I cannot pour out what I have not let You pour in. Though I may become weary with the pressure of daily toils, You are the restorer of my soul. Let my spirit find rest in Your solace, Jesus. For the blessings You have allotted to me are worthy of gratitude. Family. Friends. Accomplishments. Possessions. All are wonderful gifts but mere vapors compared to the gift I have in You, my Lord and Savior. Let me always keep these things in perspective. Take me into Your loving embrace as I daily seek Your sustenance, Lord. I cannot endure endless futility of trying to live by my own strength. Looking daily into Your heart, Your Word piercing the interior of truth until it bleeds love within me, is my source of hope and sustenance. May Your beloved never fall short of giving all my devoted love to You, Jesus. Help me abide. In the beauty of the Word of God set down in Matthew 6:20-21 and the authority of Christ I bow in prayer.
Lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal; for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
