Lord, my soul bows before You in gratitude because I have not forgotten all Your benefits. Though I come to You a beggar in need of grace, You showered me with mercy that cleansed each petition. In my most troubling seasons You strengthen and help me, lifting me out of the pit. Though my approach in prayer has often been doubtful and filled with anxiety, You listen in love to my frustrations. Father, Your beloved child is always desperate to pray. Let me not neglect such an honor and privilege as to commune with You in the intimacy of fellowship divine. You know what I need before I even ask. My soul is a work in progress that responds to the sanctifying touch of Your mighty hand. I come to You with my craving for fresh assurance of faith and personal application of Your promises. May I never cease to handle Your blessed Word with prayer and meditation. I come to You, Lord God, when I need restraint. You have not given me liberty in Christ to satisfy fleshly desire. You have given me freedom to use self-discipline to glorify Your Name. In such hours of temptation Lord, may I bow before You in prayer so that You can reveal to me the way out. Trials may assail Your servant, but when I seek You consistently in prayer I am reminded that I am not alone in the fires of adversity. Where would I go except to You, Lord God? You have the words of life that answer and respond to the prayers of my heart. I need Your daily bounty, Lord. Though my wants are immeasurable, Your answers are always sufficient. May I never cease meeting You in prayer. Under the Word of the Lord blessedly given in 1 Kings 8:28 and the authority of Christ Jesus I bow in prayer.
Yet have respect for the prayer of Your servant, and for his supplication, Yahweh my God, to listen to the cry and to the prayer which Your servant prays before you today.
