Truly Your Holy Word is my refuge, Lord God. Your life-giving breath is my sanctuary. Doubt is slain by the two-edged blade of Your promises. Fear flees when the mighty arrow of hope smites its paralyzing effect on the soul. Distresses of life and the pangs of death have met their match in You, mighty King and warrior of love. Only Your presence can make light of the affliction that Your loved one faces. Even my inward corruptions, my weakness, and my proclivity to wander cannot drive You away because Your promise is to never forsake those called by Your Name. When the enemy ensnares me and the flooding trials that come on the heels of bad choices overwhelm me, it is Your embrace that my soul searches out. Wrap my hurting heart in Your all-encompassing love my Lord. Let me delight in the solitude when You calm the storm. Let me rejoice at the replenishing strength given me to fight another battle in Your Name. Though I once was a prisoner in the dungeon of selfishness- You, my Lord and Savior, have set me free by unlocking the door with the key of grace. Walk me out into the sweet liberty of eternity, Jesus. Because I know You, I know the truth. Truth has set my soul eternally free. Under the Word of truth given in Galatians 5:1 and the authority of Christ, I bow in humble prayer.

Stand firm therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and don’t be entangled again with a yoke of bondage.
