Today’s Prayer

Jesus, I cast myself in the cleft of Your all-encompassing love. Let the fury that is due me pass me by because of the mighty power of Your merciful heart which beats in rhythm with the thunderous wrath that falls on mankind. Father, keep Your thunderbolts in the storehouse, held back by the power of Christ’s love. For all those who put faith in His mighty Name shall not face a Creator dressed in robes of vengeance. Because You have freely elected my soul by way of Your gospel, I need not flee Your presence as I would a ridiculously threatening storm. Let a few drops of sorrow fertilize the path of life I am on. Let clouds filter the sunlight of blessing for a time. It matters not to the One who walks securely beneath the canopy of salvation. Whatever You allow into my life Lord, I know that it is for good and not for harm. So when the sky grows black and the thunder rumbles in the distance, let those who belong to You recall their blessed position in Christ. Let Your beloved find rest in the eye of the hurricane. For You are there, Lord God, in the center of it all. Under the beauty of the Word given in John 10:28-30 and the authority of my Savior, Christ the Lord, I pray.

Jesus answered, “I told you, but you don’t believe. Everything I have done has been authorized by My Father, actions that speak louder than words. You don’t believe because you’re not My sheep. My sheep recognize My voice. I know them, and they follow Me. I give them real and eternal life. They are protected from the Destroyer for good. No one can steal them from out of My hand. The Father who put them under My care is so much greater than the Destroyer and Thief. No one could ever get them away from Him. I and the Father are one heart and mind.”
