My holy Father, how grateful I am that Your work will find completion in me because that is Your will and Your plan. Your promise to never forsake the work of Your hands is sweet solace for a backslider like me. Sanctification is Your progressive accomplishment, not mine. It is by the power of Your love that my soul is quickened and my life reborn into Christ. Only Your hand can sustain and maintain me despite my wretched wandering. Thank You for never giving up on one who has so little to give to You. Glory to the King who meets me in the secret space of prayer. Blessed is my Savior who upholds me in the arms of grace. Without You Jesus, there would be no life in me. Any goodness that is seen in my heart is there because it reflects You. Let such a reflection grow more prominent while my own image remains in the shadow of such holiness. You have taken my sin Jesus, and cast it away. I am wholly and completely Yours. Let Your spiritual enemy be repulsed by my existence, Lord. Let the fires of hell be doused by my consecrated life. Live through me, in me, and around me always, Lord Jesus. It is Your great instruction that my mind needs. It is Your holiness that keeps my heart pure. It is Your grace that enables me to love. It is Your cross that invited me to live again. Lord, grow me like a plant whose roots continually draw from the living water of Christ. Shape me into a jewel of faith that shines with trust in You. Feed me on Your Word, Your life, and Your example until I know the true and awesome power of love divine. Under the mighty Word of the Lord freely given in 1 John 2:2-5 and the authority of Christ I bow in prayer.
He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. And by this we know that we have come to know Him, if we keep His commandments. Whoever says “I know Him” but does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in Him, but whoever keeps His word, in him truly the love of God is perfected.
