Today’s Prayer

The sandy ground of my terrestrial circumstances are nothing to fear because You are my firm foundation, Jesus. In You my heart completely trusts when the stormy gale looms on the horizon of life’s unexpected events. My soul waits for You to calm the wind and the waves rocking the boat. My eyes of faith peer relentlessly through the darkness in great, unwavering anticipation of You walking on water, coming to rescue those You love. Lord, may the presence of my fears and anxieties not mar the noble simplicity of relying on You and only You. Remove the temptation to revert to any other calming method besides prayer. Invite me to the altar where I can place my worry and concern, knowing such an offering will be burned up, consumed until it plagues me no more. And in its place, I gladly receive the peace You leave me with, Jesus. A peace that is so contrary to this world. My trust is in You and Your unfailing love. My hope comes alive because in You I have all that I need. So I meet You in my weariness, bowing before my all-sufficient Savior, basking in the light of Your omnipotence, Your faithfulness, Your promises, and Your wisdom. Jesus, You are my rock, my sure foundation. Under the mighty truth of Your Holy Word in Matthew 7:24-25 and the authority of Christ Jesus I pray.

Everyone therefore who hears these words of Mine and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on a rock. The rain came down, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it didn’t fall, for it was founded on the rock.
