Today’s Prayer

I call upon the Lord who hears me. I cry out to the One whose power of salvation beckons me toward home. By Your sovereign pleasure, my heart has been prepared for faith, Lord. By way of Your mercy, my sorry soul has found forgiveness. In the power of repentance, let me turn away from my sin and toward Your grace. How glad is the person who comes into Your opening to find shelter and sweet refuge! As Holy Creator, I ask that You keep creating in me, Lord. I am in need of shaping that only Your hands can accomplish. Preserve me, Lord, in Your gracious providence. Knowing that I was fearfully and wonderfully constructed in the womb makes me even more grateful that Your hands guide me beyond that grace. Bowing before Your heavenly majesty, I delight to be the workmanship designed before time began. It is only in Your presence that I can unleash the confession of my unworthiness. It is only in Your grace that I can find rest. Thank You for the cleansing touch that removed the pollution from this soul. Thank You for the holy blood that lifted the stain of sin. Your forgiveness is my solace and the root of my faith. My heart opens to You in the fullest capacity, Lord Jesus. Your love has driven out my fears. Under the beauty and truth of Your Word set down in Psalm 25:5-7 and the authority of my Savior, I humbly bow in prayer.

Guide me in Your truth and teach me,
    for You are God my Savior,
    and my hope is in You all day long.
Remember, Lord, Your great mercy and love,
    for they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth
    and my rebellious ways;
according to Your love remember me,
    for You, Lord, are good.
Psalm 25:5-7, NIV
